Terms and Conditions
Version 1.0 — Effective date: 28 July 2026
Please read these Terms carefully before creating an account or purchasing a subscription. By ticking the acceptance box at registration or checkout, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Who we are
The PTWR service ("PTWR", the "Service") is operated by Promptmed Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16351362), registered office: Unit 4, 80 Station Road, Hampton, TW12 2AX ("we", "us", "our").
Contact: [email protected]
The Service consists of the website at ptwr.org and the web application at app.ptwr.org.
2. These Terms
2.1 These Terms form a contract between you and us when you create an account or purchase a subscription. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.
2.2 Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle your personal data and form part of these Terms.
2.3 If you are purchasing on behalf of a hospital, department, medical school or other organisation, separate written terms apply — contact us at [email protected].
3. What the Service is
3.1 PTWR provides short, high-yield revision notes for postgraduate examinations in intensive care and acute medicine (for example EDIC, MRCP, MRCEM and FFICM), built around publicly available clinical guidance.
3.2 The Service is offered as a free plan with limited topics and as paid subscription plans ("Pro") described on our pricing page, which forms part of these Terms.
4. Important medical notice
Please read this section carefully. It defines what PTWR is — and what it is not.
4.1 Educational purpose only. The Service is an educational and exam-preparation resource for qualified healthcare professionals, doctors in training and exam candidates. Its content is provided for revision and general information only.
4.2 Not medical advice. Nothing in the Service constitutes medical advice, diagnosis or treatment for any specific patient or clinical situation, and nothing in the Service should be relied on as such.
4.3 Not a medical device. The Service does not have a medical purpose within the meaning of the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002 (as amended) or Regulation (EU) 2017/745. It does not collect, store or interpret patient data; it does not generate any diagnosis, prognosis, risk score or treatment recommendation; it does not perform dose calculations; and it does not integrate with any electronic health record. It is not intended for clinical decision-making or point-of-care use, and it does not bear, and is not required to bear, a UKCA or CE mark.
4.4 Your professional responsibility. You acknowledge and agree that: (a) every clinical decision affecting a patient remains the sole responsibility of the treating clinician; (b) doses and thresholds shown in the Service are standard adult teaching values for revision purposes and must always be confirmed against the BNF/SmPC, current national guidance and your local protocols before any clinical use; (c) clinical guidance changes over time and the Service may not reflect the most recent developments; and (d) you will not use the Service as the sole or primary basis for any clinical decision.
4.5 No patient data. You must not enter any patient-identifiable information anywhere in the Service, including the search field.
5. Eligibility and your account
5.1 You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
5.2 You confirm that the registration information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.
5.3 Your account is personal to you. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and you must not share your login details or allow anyone else to use your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
5.4 We may suspend or close accounts that breach this clause.
6. Plans, prices, payment and renewal
6.1 Prices. Current plans and prices are shown on the pricing page. Prices include VAT where applicable. The specific price shown to you at checkout is the price you pay.
6.2 Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. By providing payment details you authorise us and Stripe to charge the applicable fees.
6.3 Auto-renewal. Monthly and Yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time via "Manage subscription" in the app or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.
6.4 Free trial. Paid plans may include a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required to start the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and the plan fee is charged when the trial ends. We will send you a reminder email before the end of the trial. You can cancel at any time during the trial at no charge.
6.5 Price changes. We may change subscription prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change takes effect on your renewal. If you do not accept the new price, cancel before it takes effect; continuing your subscription after that date means you accept the new price.
6.6 Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it, suspend Pro access, and ultimately downgrade your account to the free plan.
6.7 Lifetime plan. The Lifetime plan is a one-off payment giving access to the Pro features included at the time of purchase for the lifetime of the Service — that is, for as long as we commercially operate PTWR. It excludes separately-sold future modules identified at the point of purchase (for example future AI, CME or enterprise modules). If we permanently discontinue the Service, we will give Lifetime customers at least 60 days' notice and, if the discontinuation occurs within 24 months of your purchase, a pro-rata refund of your Lifetime fee calculated against that 24-month period.
7. Your legal right to cancel (14-day cooling-off)
7.1 If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel a paid subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason.
7.2 Immediate access. At checkout we ask for your express consent to start supplying the Service (digital content) immediately, and your acknowledgement that you lose the statutory right to cancel once supply has begun. If you do not give this consent, access starts after the 14-day period.
7.3 How to cancel. Email [email protected], use "Manage subscription" in the app, or use the Model Cancellation Form at the end of these Terms. We will refund within 14 days using your original payment method.
7.4 Nothing in this clause affects your separate rights under clause 6.3 to cancel future renewals at any time, or your statutory rights where digital content is faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill (Consumer Rights Act 2015; for EU/EEA residents, the national laws implementing Directive (EU) 2019/770).
8. Licence and acceptable use
8.1 We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service and its content for your own personal professional education.
8.2 All content in the Service (text, structure, selection and arrangement, design, logos and code) is owned by Promptmed Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright and database rights. Underlying public clinical guidance referenced in the Service (for example NICE guidance) remains the property of its respective owners.
8.3 You must not: (a) copy, reproduce, redistribute, publish, sell or commercially exploit any content; (b) scrape, crawl or use automated means to extract content; (c) use the content to train any AI or machine-learning model; (d) reverse engineer the Service; (e) share your account or resell access; (f) use the Service to build a competing product; (g) remove any copyright notices; or (h) use the Service unlawfully, interfere with its operation, or attempt unauthorised access.
8.4 Offline copies of topics created by the app on your device are part of the Service and are subject to the same licence.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
9.1 The Service is currently in beta and under active development. We aim to keep it available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access; maintenance, updates and factors outside our control may cause interruptions.
9.2 We regularly review and update revision content against current publicly available guidance and may add, change or remove topics and features. Where a change would materially reduce what you have paid for, clause 6.5 notice and cancellation rights apply.
10. Suspension and termination
10.1 You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time (clauses 6.3 and 7).
10.2 We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you materially breach these Terms (in particular clauses 4.5, 5.3 or 8.3), if required by law, or if we reasonably suspect fraudulent or harmful use. Where the breach can be fixed, we will normally warn you first.
10.3 If we permanently discontinue the Service, we will give at least 60 days' notice and refund the unused pro-rata part of any prepaid subscription period (and apply clause 6.7 to Lifetime plans).
10.4 Clauses 4, 8.2–8.3, 11, 12 and 14 survive termination.
11. Our liability
11.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
11.2 Subject to clause 11.1, we are not liable for: (a) any loss arising from a clinical decision made by you or any other person, whether or not informed by the Service — every clinical decision remains the sole responsibility of the treating clinician (clause 4.4); (b) loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, opportunity or data; or (c) any indirect or consequential loss.
11.3 Subject to clauses 11.1 and 11.2, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (i) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (ii) £100.
11.4 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be error-free or that its content will at all times reflect the most recent clinical guidance. This clause does not limit your statutory consumer rights.
12. Your responsibility to us
You are responsible for losses we suffer that are directly caused by your deliberate misuse of the Service or your breach of clause 8.3, except to the extent caused by our own breach or negligence.
13. Data protection
We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these Terms
14.1 We may update these Terms. For material changes (for example to prices, the scope of the Service, or anything that adversely affects you), we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and ask you to re-accept the updated Terms at your next login.
14.2 For minor changes (clarifications, contact details, typos) we will publish the updated version at ptwr.org/terms with a new version number and effective date. A version history is available on request.
15. Complaints
If you have a complaint, email [email protected] and we will respond within 14 days. We are not currently registered with an alternative dispute resolution scheme. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights or your right to bring a claim in court.
16. General
16.1 Governing law. These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 Jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU/EEA, in the courts of the country where you live; we may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country where you live. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you also keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, despite the choice of English law. If you are a business, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
16.3 Each clause of these Terms operates separately; if any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. A failure to enforce these Terms is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor of the Service, with notice to you. No third party has rights under these Terms (the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 is excluded). We may send notices to the email address on your account.
